The house for sale is the Casa Colombo in Via Colombo in a little ligurian hinterland village.
There is no actual proof that Christopher Columbus was born in that house, but it is historically assured that his ancestors lived in this village.

Location:
The village is located on the much sought-after holiday region of the Riviera dei Fiori. Famous seaside resorts like Diano Marina, San Remo or Bordighera are easily reached by car. The world-famous towns of Monaco, Nizza or Cannes are about an hour by car away.
Although the coast is rather lively, the village itself is absolutely quiet - an ideal haven for a refuge.
House:
The house itself was reconstructed from ruins in the early 70s by the owners and was at first used as a holiday home.
When the owners retired, they remodelled the house completely and fitted it out to modern standards of living.

You really get two appartments for the price of one. There are two living and dining areas as well as two kitchens. (A summer apartment is located in the basement with direct access to the garden and a winter apartment is in the upper level with a big terrace). Between these two living areas there are the entrance hall, the bathroom and the bedroom.
The entire living-space amounts to about 120 squaremeters.

The direct access to the garden is very rare in this area. Because of the steep location of the garden it is terraced. On the upper level there is a sitting area, an old water-pump and in the back there is a vegetable patch. A boccia (boule) course was created on the lower level. Further back there is another cozy sitting-area. The edge of the property is lined with trees (Almond, Fig, Lemon, Apple etc.).
